The NECA/IBEW Joint Training Program . . .
the guarantee of skilled, qualified workers.

To ensure that high standards of safety, skills, knowledge and workmanship are maintained, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the IBEW jointly direct training programs at our Apprenticeship Training Center in Chelsea, MI. There is a selection process, and applicants must reside in Local 252's jurisdiction area.

There are three training programs at our Apprenticeship Training Center in Chelsea, MI, and each of these programs is recognized by the U.S. Departmentof Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training:

1. The 5-year "Inside Wireman" apprenticeship program
2. The 3-year "Residential Wireman" apprenticeship program
3. The 3-year "Voice, Data, Video" apprenticeship program

In both the classroom and the jobsite, trainees learn from experienced journeyman electricians. Training covers classroom instruction and hands-on experience in every area of wiring and electricity, from simple installations to digital controllers, and from fiber optics to advanced communication systems.
